Do you enjoy walks along the Đetinja River, cycling along the bank, or are you simply curious about the condition of our river? As part of the BioRider project, we invite all enthusiasts, nature lovers, pupils, students, anglers, and active citizens of Užice and Sevojno to join our Citizen Science program and become a key part of the team protecting our river corridor! ❓ What is Citizen Science and what is your role? Citizen science is a concept where citizens and scientists join forces! You don't need a degree in biology or chemistry – we provide simple equipment, brief training, and clear guidelines. Your task will be to measure basic water quality parameters at designated locations during your daily walks or specific river visits. 📅 When is the program conducted? - Monitoring period: From August 17 to September 10, 2026. - Time commitment: Just 15–20 minutes, 1 to 2 times a week at a location that suits you best. 📍 What does field measurement look like? Measurement is quick, safe, and fun: 1. Equipment: Each volunteer team receives a digital pen-tester device. 2. Procedure: Dip the device into the water for a few seconds and read the values (temperature, pH level, TDS). 3. Mapping: Enter the measured numbers via your phone to appear on our interactive digital map of Đetinja! 🎯 Why is your participation important? The data collected will serve as an expert basis for further work on bank revitalization, biodiversity protection (such as brown trout and crayfish), and smart planning of the future green bike path between Užice and Sevojno. 🎁 What do you get as a participant? - Free short training and practical education on using ecological equipment in the field. - Opportunity to directly contribute to the conservation of the river in your city. - Project gift package (BioRider eco-tote bag/water bottle) and a certificate of appreciation. 📝 How to apply?
